Wow was I excited when on September 21st I found out I was the winner of an AccuQuilt Go! Baby on Kid Giddy! I enter a lot of blog contests and usually never expect to win. But this was quite the win. Not only did I win the AccuQuilt Go! Baby cutter and mat but I also got to choose three dies! How much fun is this going to be?!

I cannot wait to try my new fabric cutter. I am thinking of making a rag quilt as my first project as I chose this die as one of my free ones:

Cars 2

We went to see Cars 2 yesterday. Audrey really liked it. She was able to wear her cars outfit I created for the movie. She will also wear it on our trip to Disney this August.

What we liked most about this movie was the trip around the world with Lightning McQueen and Mator, our two favorite characters.

I found out today that I was the winner of a blog contest sponsored by An Island Life. I was just shocked to find out I won a beautiful winter coat from Rothchildkids.com. When I read that the winner would receive a size 6X jacket I just knew it would be perfect for Audrey. We are just getting hit with snow and it is perfect for the cold weather. Not only that, it is really a beautiful jacket from a very well known company. Thank you so much Kailani! I am more than thrilled!

Tangled

We went to see the movie Tangled this weekend. It was great! The animation is so realistic. I made this dress for Audrey to wear to the theater. The dress is an Olabelhe pattern called Phoebe. I just love this pattern. This is the 3rd dress I have made from it. The possibilities are endless and it is so versatile. I am sure I will be making more.
I have the dress listed on Ebay right now. It is a custom that I will remake. The one Audrey is wearing we are keeping. She loves it!

I have been entering a lot of Blog contests lately and so far have actually won 4 times! I really enjoy reading these blogs and will continue to read them. The winning is an added bonus. Since my husband has been away in Bermuda I have felt bad when it comes to holidays and birthdays. I am not there to give him special things. I just found out about this company that ships cakes! My First Bike what I remember

I remember getting my first bike sometime around the age of 7 or 8. I remember it being a blue 2 wheeler. My best recollection was that I began learning how to ride it inside the house before I actually tried it in the driveway. I also remember those training wheels. I can still visualize the bike tipping side to side with those training wheels on. I believe it was my mother who then later ran next to me and let me go on my own. We lived on a fairly long side street with little traffic and we had a traffic circle in the front of our house. I would ride around and around and then down the driveway. Riding bikes was one of our favorite things to do. It is ashame that kids now spend more time indoors and do not enjoy the simple things that we did long ago. Well there is a bike that I wish was around in those days and it is called a balance bike. What a great way to learn for a small child. I love this Vida dress I made for BMCD's Nursery Rhyme launch. It tells the story of the Itsy Bitsy Spider. I incorporated spider, rain, and sun print fabrics. I also embroidered the rhyme on the back. Audrey has been singing the rhyme over and over since I had her model the dress. She loved it. It can be found on Ebay right now.

Winter Luxe

Here is Audrey wearing the coat I will be listing on Ebay tomorrow for our Winter Luxe launch. It was fairly time consuming as it is fully lined and there was quite a bit of hand sewing to be done. If I had been smart I would have attempted sewing it together like they do in ready to wear but I am a stickler for following directions. It is made from a lightweight corduroy that was very easy to sew with. She was not the best model today but we managed to get a few shots that we can use.

Halloween

Last night was my daughter Jessica and husband Mike's annual Halloween party. I got there very late due to the neighbor borrowing our truck to move herself to her first apartment. I repeated my costume this year and went as a witch. I had been a witch at school also so it was easy to put it together. Here is a picture of Jess and Mike as Minnie and the banana! Great party as usual!

Today I am devouring all my leftover candy. Not sure what happened this year. The weather was warm and it is was still light out since daylight savings had not begun yet, but I had so few trick or treaters! I usually get close to 300 and I bet I only had 100. I was giving out candy by the handfuls and I still have loads. I better hide it so I am not inclined to indulge.

My Sewing Room

I spent today cleaning out the sewing room. It hasn't been a sewing room all that long only since this summer. But since my granddaughter is coming back to live with me for a while she needs her room back. What a mess it is. It needed cleaning but the hard part is finding new space for everything that is in it. Here is how it looks...

Piles of fabric and disorganization. And the project I am working on. The Lydia dress by Pink Fig Patterns. I love the way it is turning out. I will post the finshed project later.

Friday..... and lots of sewing to do! Problem is I never can decide which project to be working on first. Which means I need to start saying NO so I am not so overextended. But when it is a passion it is not tedious work. But then there is cleaning, and cooking, and shopping, and bill paying! Which should I do first? Remember that Life is Short so all that can wait while I sew, sew, sew!

Change.... Life is full of change but I am not good with change. First my husband decides to take a job in Bermuda. So I am living with my daughter and granddaughter. Then they decide to move to Texas. My middle daughter returns from college and takes up the empty space. Now my daughter wants to return from Texas and move back here. I guess things will get better.
Change.... We have a new Superintendent of schools. He is having the entire school refurbished! New classrooms, new office, new faculty rooms, new everything! They are pounding and building and the sound and smells.... Well they came in today to give me a new desk chair, and I took the new chair but really was partial to my old chair. So at the end of the day I found it lonely sitting in the hallway and I took my chair back! I know things will get better.
